USGBC-LA's 7th ANNUAL GREEN GALA
November 3, 2011 • JW Marriott at L.A. Live • 5:30pm Cocktail Reception • 6:30pm Dinner and Awards Ceremony
The theme of the 2011 Green Gala is “Branching Out,” reflecting the Chapter’s broadened focus on engaging new members and communities beyond the building industry who have sustainable initiatives, information and goals that are parallel to that of the nonprofit USGBC.
Additionally, due to the size and diversity of land and population issues that the Los Angeles Chapter faces, the Chapter engages its constituents on a hyper-local level via “branches” which include San Gabriel Valley, Long Beach, Westside and the newest branch, South Bay.
This year’s Green Gala features the premier installment of the USGBC-LA Sustainable Innovation Awards and Keynote Speaker, Jason McLennan, CEO of the International Living Future Institute. The event is an excellent opportunity to network and gain brand visibility, with over 400 attendees anticipated. Participating organizations include Southern California Edison, AEG, Gensler, Glumac, Morley Builders among others.
2011 SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION AWARDS
This year USGBC-LA will be launching its Sustainable Innovation Awards at the Gala, recognizing exceptional achievements in each LEED category for county-wide certified projects from the past two years. The awards program offer prestige, notoriety and affirmation of you and your project team’s commitment to a sustainable built environment.
Unlike standardized LEED rating systems, the Sustainable Innovation Awards will evaluate merit based upon sustainable strategies that demonstrate exemplary performance by going above and beyond LEED credit achievement.
